Scott Ferber is a former computer crimes prosecutor and senior leader at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). Most recently, Scott served as Counsel for Cyber Investigations at DOJ’s National Security Division (NSD), where he developed and led national security investigations involving international cyber threats and economic espionage. Before NSD, Scott was Associate Deputy Attorney General at DOJ, providing counsel to the Deputy Attorney General and Attorney General on a range of significant legal, legislative, policy, and programmatic matters, with special emphasis on cyber and national security. Scott also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Atlanta, where he was the office’s Computer Hacking/Intellectual Property Coordinator, tried numerous jury trials, and briefed and argued multiple cases before the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
As a Partner at King & Spalding’s Data, Privacy and Security practice, Scott leverages his experience as a federal prosecutor to advise on a variety of technology, privacy, and data security issues. He counsels clients in a broad range of industries on complex global privacy and data security issues, addressing the complete lifecycle of privacy and data security issues, from proactive counseling to incident response, regulatory enforcement, and breach-related litigation.
