Modern Smartphone Investigation Issues, Solutions, and Methods

Amber Schroader - CEO of ParabenSmartphones are central to our lives and our businesses as well as the crimes involved in both. If you have not yet dealt with smartphone forensic issues, you will. Being prepared is crucial. Learning the steps you will need to walk through to produce the best possible results can save you hours of aggravation.

This speech will focus on a practical approach for collecting data from smartphones and other mobile devices. It will note the common pitfalls associated with finding the data and linking it back to the case at hand. A case scenario will be walked through to look for potential evidence followed by a focus on the methods to be used as well as how to add this capability to your team or for a checklist when these capabilities need to be outsourced.

Through the past two decades, Amber Schroader has been a driving force for innovation in digital forensics. The Speaker has developed over two dozen software programs designed for the purpose of recovering digital data from mobile phones, computer hard drives, email, and live monitoring services. She has taught and designed the established protocols for the seizure and processing of digital evidence that have been used by numerous organizations throughout the world.

Ms. Schroader has coined the concept of the “360-degree approach to digital forensics” and started the push for the “Forensics of Everything (FoE)” with her focus on the unique problems in digital evidence and solutions. She has been a major industry influence in pushing for a big-picture consideration of the digital evidence, the acquisition process, and the use of analysis techniques. An accomplished curriculum developer and instructor, the Speaker has written and taught numerous classes for this specialized field and has founded multiple certifications. She continues support for the field through book contributions and other industry speaking engagements. You can contact the Speaker at her company via: forensics@paraben.com
