Cyber Resiliency — A talk with Dr. Lin Wells

21 November Chapter meeting.

Dr. Lin Wells, former CIO of the Department of Defense and Acting Dep. Ass’t Sec. of Def. under Pres. George W. Bush, will speak to us on cyber resiliency. Dr. Wells lives and breathes this topic in his current role as Executive Advisor to the GMU Community Resiliency Lab. A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Dr. Wells spent the first half of more than 50 years of federal service as a Navy officer, in a variety of duties including commander of the USS Joseph Srauss. He left active duty and later served 14 years as a Senior Executive with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, serving under both Presidents Clinton and Bush. Dr. Wells has published on a number of geo-strategic and national security issues. He joined GMU to continue his research into major disaster recovery and resiliency. His talk will focus on the digital aspect of this field of study.
