Abstract:  Sartaj Singh Dhami will discuss the Microsoft DC Engineering Academic Outreach Program. Ray Murphy will discuss the Incident Management Program. This includes the documented program,
defined roles and responsibilities, practice the entire program periodically, incident communications internally and externally, incident response, detection and prevention. He will discuss the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Cyber Incident Examples, Exercises & Testing, Cyber Insurance, Forensic Retainer Service, financial institutions credit monitoring service plan, and Crypto Payment service..

About the Speaker: Sartaj Singh Dhami is a Microsoft experienced cybersecurity and systems engineering professional adept at overcoming complex challenges with innovative solutions. Skilled in cyber analytics, network topologies, and vulnerability assessment. Expertise in designing, developing, securing enterprise web applications, and computing networks. Strong communication and leadership skills, experience in managing 16 direct reports and leading successful projects. Proficient in Windows and Linux command line. Interested in both offensive and defensive cybersecurity, technical analysis support, and exploring new technologies.  He is a member of the M365 Security Incident Response Team.  Prior to joining Microsoft in 2022, he was a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst with Armision Tech and a Cyber Technical Analyst and Systems Engineer with Northrup Gruman Corporation.  He has a Batchelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Masters’ Degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland Global Campus.  He has the Certified Ethical Hacker certification.  He is fluent in the Punjabi language.  He is a committee member of the Montgomery County Committee on Hate/Violence and an active member of the Guru Gobind Singh Foundation.

Ray Murphy has extensive information security and information technology experience. He has held positions with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) as the Chief Information Security Officer, Navy Federal Credit Union as the Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President Fraud Management, LEO Cyber Security CISO Advisor for small credit unions, and the Mobil Oil Corporation All aspects of information technology. As a Global IT Security Executive, he is committed to fueling growth, profitability, and innovation by streamlining operations, scaling networks and systems, optimizing security protocols and applications, and building innovative, business-aligned cybersecurity operations. A few of Ray’s recent accomplishments include:

► Reduced cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities by 50%.

► Cut enterprise-wide fraud losses by 33%.

► Generated $6M investment return via enterprise fraud management system implementation.

Serving as a Cybersecurity Strategist and Advisor to the Board and CXO executives of Navy Federal –– world’s largest credit union and financial services firm, I provide technology governance and direction to cybersecurity operations that generated more than $50M savings to date.

At peak, he have managed up to $100M IT budget and led up to 400+ resources (direct/indirect). He has been a frequent keynote speaker and presenter at multiple industry events. In addition to my CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control) credential, he completed a MBA degree from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
