Abstract: Realizing the outcomes of major software security initiatives like Software Attestation, Software Bills of Material (SBOMs), and Software Liability will require fixing the broken pieces.  Fixing the broken pieces is an introspective and retrospective reflection on where we are and where we need to go as an industry in creating a healthy software world.  You want better software, let’s fix the broken pieces.

About the Speaker: Kevin E. Greene is the Public Sector Chief Technology Officer for opentext.  Kevin E. Greene is an experienced leader, champion and advocate for advancing the state of practice in cybersecurity. Leveraging his innovative and strategic expertise, he drives customer engagement around cyber capabilities in federal agencies for digital transformation, software supply chain, zero trust and evolving threat defense.  Kevin is a member of the ATARC (Advanced Technology Academic Research Center) Industry Advisory Board.  He has successfully led multiple federally funded R&D projects in his career that were commercialized and transitioned into practice. Prior to joining opentext, he worked at Director of Security Solutions for Parasoft and at the MITRE Corporation supporting DevSecOps and cyber defense initiatives. Kevin also spent time serving our nation as a federal employee at the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate, Cyber Security Division as the Cyber Research and Development Program Manager for Software Assurance. He holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and supports several academic external advisory boards in formalizing cybersecurity curriculum and initiatives.
