Stephanie Vuong awarded 2023 Ed Hetsko/Laurie McQuillan/ISSA-NOVA Endowed Scholarship

Stephanie Diem-My Vuong was awarded the 2023 Ed Hetsko/Laurie McQuillan/ISSA-NOVA Endowed Scholarship in November 2023. The scholarship is awarded annually by the George Mason University College of Engineering and Computing. The Information Systems Association, Northern Virginia Chapter established the scholarship to provide scholarships for full-time graduate students pursuing a degree at the Volgenau School of Engineering. Stephanie was born and raised in Fairfax Station, VA, just minutes away from George Mason University and visited the University frequently with her mother a proud GMU alumna who constantly praised the University for its top-notch faculty, students, academic programs, and more. Stephanie graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Business Information Technology and B.A. in Spanish in the spring of 2019. As of 2002, she was accepted and enrolled in George Mason University’s Master of Science in Applied Information Technology (AIT) Cyber Security degree program.  Stephanie is a Cyber Risk Consultant supporting Federal Government customers and applies the knowledge she is learning daily in her work. Stephanie is focusing on Zero Trust, Cloud Security, and Risk Management during her studies. In a letter to the chapter dated November 2023 Stephanie stated, “Thank you again for funding the Ed Hetsko/Laurie McQuillan/ISSA-NOVA Endowed Scholarship. Awards like yours make it possible for women in cyber like me to continue thriving and making a difference in our field!”
