SEPT 23: Forensic analysis framework for drone events

Join our sister chapter, ISSA – Central MD for an online presentation on drone forensics on Sept. 23 at 5pm. As commercial unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are used more commonly in public areas, an approach for a drone forensics framework is needed to guide forensics investigators in analyzing recovered drones that entered the unauthorized national airspace system (NAS). The presentation is based on a doctoral research study on this subject. Data collected through an online survey showed that in the US, there is a need for a standard drone forensic framework across digital forensic disciplines and aircraft accident investigations. This would enable investigators to produce admissible evidence for litigation in U.S. courts. The researcher proposes a basic drone forensics framework to support this need and provide a platform for robust forensice analysis of drone-related events.

She holds certifications in Sec+, PMP, PMI-ACP, SSM, CSM, and ITILv3.
